For years now I adjust my FL sizing die to one specific rifle chamber, by adjusting my die, until the case headspaces between the bolt face and the shoulder of the chamber of that specific rifle.
the right point also can be felt when a case so sused, causes the bolt to close with a smidgen of resistance. It’s a bit of a fiddly job.
is this what most of you guys do, or is it not worth the effort?
I normally bump the shoulder .002” and then remove the firing pin assembly in my rifle and see if the bolt will fall with zero resistance. If it falls with no resistance I know im good and leave my FL sizing die alone. Once I check neck tension, if its not an acceptable amount ill try different mandrels until i get the desired amount of neck tensions.
