Accura Outdoors Brass Butter Review

Updated: May 16, 2020

Welcome back!

Well, I want to start off by saying this review was nothing short of awesome to do with a close buddy of mine. We brainstormed the best way to bring a data set to you and show you facts, rather than just telling you how the lube feels or works like traditional reviews.

Brass Lube Review

Foot Pound Test

We started off by creating one of the most interesting things I've seen in a reloading room to date. We made a homemade press handle that would measure foot pounds.

The parts we used were: Brake Pistol tool, 3/8" square steel rod, and a drive needle torque wrench kit to make this review happen.

We slid the break piston onto the 3/8 steel rod. We next removed our Forster coax handle and inserted this homemade handle into the press and secured the locking screw on the outside. Once secured, we used the torque wrench and inserted it directly into the brake piston, which fit nice and secure.

Let's show you some numbers

Final thoughts

For 10 oz can of Hornady One Shot is $14.99

For 8 oz of Brass Butter is $14.99

The one thing I did notice is that Brass Butter can be applied right on your brass and into your die without sticking. Hornady One shot, on the other hand, will have to sit for a while before resizing because you will end up getting a case stuck.

Is the couple of foot pounds really that big of a deal?

It all depends on how big of a nerd you are. You won't notice a huge difference or feel the affects of a few foot pounds while resizing your brass.
